This memorial to the civilians of Ethe and Latour is of antique style. It was erected in a meadow near the village at the very place where the vitims were shot. On August 22, 23 and 24 1914, the German army had shot 282 civilians from Ethe and Latour whose only crime was to Belgian, without juging them. 6 soldiers died fighting for their country. Three civilians died because of hunger and thirst and of bad treatment in deportation.6760
